A two-day Joint Coastal Security Exercise Commenced- ‘Sagar Kavach’

Current Context: The ‘Sagar Kavach’, joint coastal security exercise was launched at Paradip Coast, Odisha.

  • The exercise is a joint effort of Odisha and West Bengal governments.
  • It is being conducted to prevent a repeat of the Mumbai attacks by sea.
  • The exercise includes participation from the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard, the Odisha Police, the local fishermen, the forest department, and the port marine department.
