Current Context: The ‘Tourist Facilitation Centre’ was inaugurated at Guruvayur, Kerala.




  • The inauguration was done by Union Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel. 
  • The ‘Tourist Facilitation Centre’ is constructed under the “Development of Guruvayur” project of PRASAD Scheme, which is the scheme of the Ministry of Tourism.
  • The center is constructed at a cost of Rs 11.57 crores. 
  • The centre is comprised of CCTV Network infrastructure, multi-level car parking and tourist amenities centre.


PRASAD Scheme: Its full form is Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive. It was launched by the Ministry of Tourism in 2014-15. The objective of the scheme is to perform integrated development of identified pilgrim and heritage destinations in India.
